Here’s a question for those of you who also know a bit about flash and SEO :
One of my main sites takes a hit in google rankings because the homepage has a bunch of outbound links to other sites (google prefers sites that have a lot of inbound links, and/or content-linked internal pages, and doesn’t like sites that simply point to a lot of different external sites, like mine does).
I’m thinking, instead of using text links on the site only that point to other sites, if INSTEAD I were to use say flash buttons that look like text (but still linked offsite), google/se wouldn’t “know” that the site has a lot of outbound-pointing links, and may not penalize the site as it currently does.
Is that correct thinking? I was hoping that, instead of as now, where google “sees” my homepage with a bunch of outbound links (and ranks it lower), instead it “misses” seeing or even knowing about all the outbound links, since I’m using flash buttons with external URL links. (or, can google somehow ‘tell’ the .swfs have external links, and penalize me anyways).
Anyone know?
thanks… (and fwiw I’m not worried about missing out on having ipad users not seeing the links, most of my customers are pc/desktop based that I want to reach)
