Facebook app on timeline

I’ve got a question…I have created a mini website ( not finished, still tweaking ) using a static i-frame app 800px width for Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michael-Fishel/378361502231400?sk=app_221460014534454 My question is I can only get it to post on my Facebook apps alongside the photos, likes, notes, map etc. if I create a separate page for it for example like a fan page. Does anyone know how is it possible to get it to post like this on my normal Facebook landing page timeline?

Hi, If you mean like the old Facebook where you could land on just about any page then I am afraid that can’t be done anymore. BY default all pages now land on the timeline. It is now a Facebook rule.

You could create a post about it and use settings to keep that close to the top of your timeline but it will still have to sit elsewhere up by your likes, maps etc.

Thanks charlie4282, When you say “but it will still have to sit elsewhere up by your likes, maps etc.” does that mean it is not possible to have it just like one of those to swap places etc? I want my new app with my custom icon linked to my mini-website to be able to be added among those. Is that possible on the timeline? I have been able to do this on a page that I have created but not on the main Facebook timeline itself. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

Hi sorry for the delayed reply.
Basically you can create a canvas app (mini website 810px) in an iFrame on Facebook – by setting this to sync to your profile/page then it will appear up in a tab around likes, map, photos etc top right. This used to be done during the app set up developer page but now there is a new “unusual” process they have created. If you want to do this I will email instructions if you have any issues.

This will mean that users can click the tab (much like photos etc) and this will load the page .

What you cannot do is set this tab as a default landing page instead of timeline.

There is also a way to post a link on your timeline to the tab and use your profile settings to keep that post at the top of your timeline at most times.
