Cant open project!!! Please Help me!!

Hey world, well i bought this item, http://videohive.net/item/light-scribble-intro/57050

i downloaded it and tried to open it with my AE CS4 version 7 and i get a message saying this was made in AE Cs4 9 and basically error you cant open it, and it doesn’t let me

Can someone please aid me this is very urget!

After Effects can’t be CS4 and version 7 at the same time.

CS4 is in fact version 9.

Unfortunately, After Effects is only forwards compatible.

There’s not many projects on VH that go back to version 7. Most are for CS3 and above, although an increasing number are CS4 only.

It may be time to upgrade.

By the way, if this lands you in trouble, swing on over to Adobe. There you can download a fully functional version of CS4 that is unrestricted for 30 days. That should be long enough to get your render done.

The only problem is that I notice the project you have purchased uses Cycore effects and unfortunatly, Cycore effects only come bundled with the full version of After Effects and aren’t present in the 30 day trial.

You may be able to install the Cycore plug-ins from your version 7 into the CS4 demo, but I’ve never tried this…. never needed to.

After version 7, After Effects fell into line with the CS naming policy for Adobe.

Therefore, version 8 is known as CS3 , version 9 is known as CS4 and version 10 will be known as CS5 .

CS4 is the most up to date version. If Adobe continues its policy of releasing an update every 18 months or so, then we should be seeing CS5 sometime in April or May. But as far as I’m aware, no official release date for CS5 has been published.

I’d assume your preview window is set to “Half, Third, or Quarter” quality.

The site is down right now, but I’d suggest going through the videocopilot.net Basic Traning tutorial. And, paying $25 for a month of Lynda.com and going through AE CS4 Essential Training
