I’ve been a Discovery Channel enthusiast for more than 10 years. The passion for knowledge has made me read more and more especially about history and science, so I’ve decided to make this thread where you guys can post any fact you find truly astonishing.

I’ll start by showing a comparison of the sizes of planets from our solar system to the sun and the sun to other (here’s where the great part starts) gigantic stars from our galaxy.

Do you remember that episode of the Myth Busters when they make an airplane fly from a conveyor belt?

Well, I saw this episode a few days ago and I was thinking how could it be possible? They don’t really explain it.
