Just a quick question about the different versions of AE that are out there. I know that 5.5 is the most current version of AE that is included with Master Creative Suite, and 6.0 is about to be released in May, but in looking up books to read about and to learn more about AE I ’m seeing some that refer to After Effects 7.0. One of them is at this Amazon.com link for a book http://www.amazon.com/After-Effects-Windows-Macintosh-QuickPro/dp/0321383540/ref=sr_ob_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1335046576&sr=1-1 So, isn’t 5.5 the most recent version of AE, and why I’m I seeing AE 7 .0?
And does anyone have any good opinions on instructional books for beginners?

7.0 was released just before CS. Those books are most likely outdated, but some stuff still works the same way. Hope this helps

AE 6 and AE CS 6 is two different things.
I guess you have seen the old AE7 version, which was released in January 2006.
After that, it become not AE 8 , but CS3 , CS4 and CS5 and so on. Because not the single application is updated but the Whole creative suite(CS).
Thanks, it makes more sense now! And I’m checking out the link that was posted now for tutorials on AE. Thanks again!
