The first challenge I saw when working with HTML5 Canvas is the poor documentation. For many things HTML5 I ’ve had to consult w3.org which I find to be difficult to sort through. Compare that to the EaslJS docs and it’s no contest:

Those docs are what Flasher’s are used to, and that type of doc structure is the best I’ve come across for any API .

The code i can handle i think in an easy matter, but my biggest problem is the browser compatibility and mobile issue and do a fall back for the Canvas is not my thing lower my standers , it’s just drive me nuts and take so much time on the testing and fixing, also i think if you use it in a template with all the crap plugins people add i don’t know how much Cpu friendly it will be, and even worst i don’t see this problem change soon, there is simple no perfection on the making with the Canvas right now.

The fishmam always tell me stop making complex things that the ordinary user can’t even touch your code if you want to be a rich man ,the Canvas is fur sure falling under this category no matter how much friendly easy setting we give to the user on the change.

For evidence you can see how poorly the Canvas is doing on the Envato market and frankly i don’t see it change right now, or for me spending time on it .

Today when working with JS my main priority first is to make everything browser/ mobile compatibility, I leave the cool stuff i make you know with what syntax ……

As is absolutely. But with something like EaslJS, it’s a lot easier to add user settings. The challenge is deciding if it’s worth importing a large script for easier usage. For something small like a preloader, probably not, but for anything larger, I wouldn’t build anything without EaselJS for this very reason.

Uggh… Couldn’t even figure out how to start with Brackets… I gave up like a boss But I really like their javascript library. Thanks for the info.

I suggest taking another look… I hadn’t heard of Brackets until reading this post, but I can definitely see where they’re going with it. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s clean, surprisingly fast, and I like it! Thanks to OP for the link!
