Guys you don’t have to worry about Low sales because you get dissapointed without knowing the real reason. You just have to think only for your next project and nothing more. The more sales will come with your usefull projects, not difficult not unique, just usefull I think.
Yeah, i don’t have to worry about the low sales, because i got 4 sales today.
Time is of the essence.
it’s not about sales now, but rather about being fair to guys who getting pushed away from the front page by stock footage. Definitely not fair
There’s a few points I keep in mind when creating a template. I find that if I stick to these then the template will sell well
a) It has to stand out against the competition i.e. be unique
b) It has to be executed to a high standard and stand up alongside high end motion graphics pieces created by some of the higher end studios and agencies operating within the industry. After all, people come to this site for exceptional work at affordable prices.
c) It has to serve a purpose. Are people likely to need this item?
d) I have to be proud to put my name to it. I am my harshest critic and I won’t upload something if I am not 100% happy with every element, be it the typography, the colour scheme, the tutorial, the thumbnail. It has to be perfect.
There are a lot of files on here and a lot of authors with great portfolios, do something better and it will sell. Simple!

Good points, but I think that majorly oversimplifies it.
There are files on VH that satisfy all of those criteria and sell averagely or even poorly.
There are other files that just about satisfy some of the above and nevertheless sell like hot cakes.

True, obviously there’s no exact formula to creating a winning template. I just wanted to pass on advice that i thought might be of use. It works for me so it could work for others.
I’ve given up trying to analyze what sells and what doesn’t. It seems pretty random actually. All you can do is create quality projects and hope for the best. In the worst case scenario at least you have something nice for your portfolio.
