I think real milestones are fine (even low ones). A bit of celebration is allowed.
My musings on the other thread are simply to do with weight of numbers.
There are 1600 authors on Videohive and on average, each will reach a new paw, a round number or whatever around 4 times a year. Considering a post stays on the front page for a couple of days, that would mean a staggering 35 congratulations posts on the front page if every author celebrated every milestone.
