yh, i would love that… if it is every month i think it needs its own URL mostwanted.envato.com .. it should still be on the forums but it would nice to see the winners of last time and the new wanted items in one place

I just wanted to clarify exactly what is changing when. The first round won’t be a change to the licenses themselves, but more of a clarification of what we already have. We want to make sure they’re 100% clear to everyone who reads them. That means mean that, in the short term, there’ll be no changes to allow volume discounts or multi-user licences – both the regular and extended licences are for ‘single application’ type uses, with the key difference between them being whether the end product is available freely or for a fee.

It’s been kind of a while since I’ve done any 3d, but I figured I’d give it a go. It’s got 101 polys.

We’ve removed the extended license option for any Envato marketplace item that we consider a “tool”. Why? Because you don’t need them.

By “tool”, I’m referring to anything that, unlike traditional stock, is used as a tool to create other projects. For example, brushes are tools. You wouldn’t add the brush itself in your project – you’d use the brush to paint the picture that you’d use in your project. Check out the licensing terms to see what items are considered tools.

Just to clarify, this is only for WP e-Commerce, WooCommerce, Jigoshop, and Cart66. The misc and standalone categories don’t count for this one.

One other things to keep in mind, you can win up to 3 times. If you wanted to, you could convert the same extension for 3 different plugins. For example, you could build a Fedex shipping calculator and have it work for WooCommerce, Jigoshop, and Cart66 and make $300!

Definitely my golden mo badge. It’s by far my proudest achievement.

Sorry, that’s not something we have in the wiki right now. The best way to figure it out is to just check the category itself.

That’s a really great model. I really wish I could, but you never uploaded it to 3dO. Shoot me an email and maybe we can discuss other ways to give this file some extra love.

The competition is now closed, though we still need to go through and accept the ones that were uploaded prior to the deadline. More info to come.

You’ll see a few changes to our licenses in the coming months. The first couple changes will be to make them more clear and to make them better cover everything Envato sells. Once that’s taken care of, we’ll be looking into other license types. When it comes to legal changes, we need to be very careful, which is why sometimes it takes a long time. Sorry that this has been in the works far longer than expected. Now that we have an in-house legal team, this type of thing should be a lot quicker. We’ll keep you informed when we make any changes.
