Yes well I have used wordpress before you folks even existed so keep your comments to the fact you sell crap. I will reverse the Paypal payement, try being professional something you lack!!!

Hi there Antigua,

Sorry for your frustration, but please keep a few things in mind:

1. You’re not talking to anyone from Envato or the creator of the theme here – we’re all community members, just like you, and everyone here has tried to be helpful. No one here has a stake in the product you’ve purchased, or was involved in its development or distribution. No one here has received any money from you.

2. All ThemeForest products are tested prior to being released, so we know they can be installed. Other members here have already provided you helpful suggestions as to what is going wrong for you.

3. It sounds to me like you’ve probably purchased an HTML theme and not a WordPress template (there is a version for each for the item you’re referring to). HTML templates can’t be installed on WordPress. The WordPress theme costs $40 while the HTML template costs $15. Which have you purchased?

If you’ve purchased the wrong type of item, don’t worry – please contact Envato Support – they will likely be able to give you credit toward purchasing the right version. :)

If you wish to request a refund, you should still contact Envato Support rather than going through a PayPal Reversal. PayPal Reversals are a last resort only after you have pursued a resolution with both the author and Envato; and you haven’t done either of those yet. Don’t be so hasty to burn professional bridges when it sounds like this is a simple case of user error.

As you said, Envato and its authors absolutely have a responsibility to provide quality products, and we make every effort to do so; but you also have a responsibility as a customer to (1) make sure you’re purchasing the right product and (2) read the instructions.

We’re a very friendly community and happy to help, but please don’t make accusations, hurl insults, and refuse advice from community members who are only trying to assist you.

Like OriginalEXE said, if you’re trying to alter the main query you should absolutely be using the pre_get_posts filter rather than creating a new query.

I suppose this is one of those “sincerest forms of flattery”?

Envato earned over 100.000$ from me. still i am paying for refund. also i do not know here is my file fault :D

I think the point is that neither does Envato. This is a case where a user has initiated a refund through PayPal. PayPal takes the money back from Envato. So when this happens, we share this burden and our cut is taken back as well. Seems fair to me – Envato is not responsible for the reversal any more than we are, so why should they take all the burden?

That being said, I would completely support having access more information about these reversals. I agree that at the moment, knowing nothing about why this happens is extremely frustrating. Not sure there’s much to be done about that, though.

No, it’s not possible, sadly. See this for details.

Money just arrived in my account :) Check yours.

Haha glad to hear you got it! It’s always a bit nerve-racking when the money just “disappears” for 4-5 days while PayPal makes the transfer :)

It’s definitely not “quiet” around here in the summer – still plenty of sales to be had – but I think the summer months do tend to be slower. There are a lot of moving pieces though – the marketplaces continue to expand, your own business likely continues to gain momentum, so with all these other elements there’s a good chance you won’t actually see much of a decline over the summer – but perhaps just slower growth. At least that’s been my experience :)

Hey Martin,

Thanks very much for the update, it’s really appreciated!

When this all dies down, maybe you guys could consider adding a status.envato.com type page (on a different server), where you could post alerts to this effect? That’d give us all the information we need and avoid Envato support being bombarded with questions when something like this happens.

And thanks for all your hard work! DDoS attacks suck.

Also, for anyone else reading this, I’m getting a lot of false positives it seems and getting locked out, I assume because I click around the site pretty quickly. For anyone else that accesses a few pages and then the site stops loading, try going a bit slower and you shouldn’t get locked out :)
