Any ideas on how much the Knoll 3D is going to be? For what I read from rabinowitz’s blog, this plugin has some real advantages plus is an industry standard but I am really excited about Kramer’s Optical Flare.

I haven’t asked Aharon about it, but to combat with Optical Flares, I don’t think Red Giant would make it more than $50, at least for those that already have Knoll Light Factory… personally, if I had KLF , I wouldn’t pay any more than that for it. But you know, to have the one click capablilities… it really is a time saver, without having to set up expressions, figure out what the hell to pickwhip, and researching how to to do it… ya know?

Copied? How is any Video Copilot stuff copied? I mean, they are working on a bigger, better Lens Flare plugin, Twitch was original, as is allllll of their stock packs… and their tutorials are all the first of their kind, so I’m not understanding what you are sayin…

So, I actually called into the AE line last week and talked to Michael Coleman and the team, after being corrected by Rich Young…

Currently there’s no 64-bit version of AE.

BUT ! the 64 bit version for CS5 can utilize as much RAM per core as you want. so say you have 32 gb? you can put all that through one core or split it up as much as you want if you have dual quad core processors.

quite versatile really.

Just wanted to clear that up.

well currently you can get the 64-bit version of AE, they are going to make it ONLY 64 -bit from now on.

using a 64-bit system, AE can recognize 2GB of RAM for every core that is running… dual quad core processors= maximum of 16 GB RAM … not sure if the new update will change that though.. it would be awesome if it could allocate 4GB RAM for every core… that means a maximum of 32 GB RAM with a basic Dual Quad Core System..

hell yeah!

Sorry if our robot posted this already…

This seems to be a big problem with some noobs as well as weathered AE artists alike. Sometimes you just can’t figure out how to get that motion blur to work. It might be as easy as a switch you didn’t turn on, and sometimes it get as difficult as applying plugins, precomping, adding adjustment layers and so on. If you don’t know what I am talking about, motion blur is an effect that you can simulate in After Effects to make your graphics seem like they were filmed by a camera by adding blurred artifacts to your composition depending on the speed and movement of your imagery.
