Why do the fonts looks so crappy in chrome? Its like this on chrome at my work in XP and chrome at home in Win7Right click and view the image at full size

there is a setting in Windows XP (i guess there should be in Win 7 too) to make fonts clearer… it works on firefox.. normally firefox fonts look antialiased.. but if you set this it looks good.. it might work on chrome too…
right click on desktop > properties > view options > effects > select clear type

and i suggest you to lower the page-title size from 45px to 37px which is your regular h1 tag font size… it looks better and it does not usually overflow to the second line…
.page-title {
font-family: MgOpen Modata,Helvetica,Geneva;
font-size: 37px;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-top: 0;
}

and as you can see there is problem with pre tags… lines do not match with the background
add background-position to the background to move it as much as padding-top…
#fsCell7922832 pre, #items div.inner-boundary ul.item-list li.first-item #live-search-results pre, #fsForm768266 #fsPage768266-1 pre, .wiki-container pre, .post-body pre, .item-description pre, .user-bio pre, .post-content pre, .comment_reply_content pre, .terms pre, .user-edit-exclusivity pre, .exodus pre, .forum_search_wrapper pre, ul.faqs li div.answer pre {
background-image: url("http://0.envato-static.com/images/common/backgrounds/code_bg.png?1304993075");
background-position: 0 10px;
border: 1px solid #C7C7C7;
display: block;
margin-bottom: 10px;
overflow-x: visible;
overflow-y: hidden;
padding: 10px 19px;
}
Yea, new look is simple and slick… and looks way much professional… having things (gradients, round edges, shadows etc) using CSS3 without using images is kinda cool. ( jeffery give it up
) but site is having huge browser compatibility…
the whole header does not show up on IE6 ,
author dropdown and menus are not on top in IE7 (z-depth problem)
yea i know we are all computer geeks and use latest version of everthing, IE9 , Firefox 4 etc… and site looks cool.. but if you take a look at the statistics, china is competing USA on hits for our sites.. and it shows that %90 of them still use IE6
instead of acting cool, you should consider compatibility..
great job dough!
can someone tell me the benefits of using Flex instead of Flash IDE ?
flex applications seem to look like same, with that bluish background, clock preloader and same components etc… i hate it’s visuality.. isn’t it possible to make it like the way you do in Flash or authors just dont do it out of being lazy?
i know i am using AS2 and AS3 for a long time, don’t judge me.. but what’s the aim of flex? did it just came out because they released AS3 before they could release Flash IDE that supports AS3 ? so some generation had to use it with Flex / Flash Builder using mxml or what ever it is (:
best regards
