yes i read the thread, but i was so fed up about that, that i needed to shout it loud! ;-) Cause some of my plugins still have the “licensing” folder out of the main directory and it’s still breaking the upload

Well at least you can easily fix it now by re-uploading :)

Japh is so dreamy! :inlove: Congrats Jake! Don’t eat all that Vegemite in one sitting.

LOL :bashful:

Hail to the brave ones who can eat a spoonful of Vegemite!

Just a spoonful? Too easy.

Congrats, Jake! Well deserved :)

It certainly was an entertaining request. We organised a special photo shoot and everything! (The timing could have been a coincidence, but I like to think it was fate)

Thanks for reporting this. A fix should be out shortly now for the bad handling of WP_Error.

Once you have the fix, you should be able to see what the real issue is.

I think someone needs to do a little Diagram of the folder structure ( required by Authors ) so as not to confuse the issue.

Ok, so here’s a diagram showing the two scenarios possible before the licensing change, what the licensing change broke, and the two possible scenarios now with the fix.

Hopefully that clears things up :)

That could be an oversight rather than deliberate , if you look how they load their theme previews they do it by reference, if its loading from TF it doesn’t display the purchase button. When you use the switcher although TF frame is there its technically being referred from inside the frame(woos own site) so its not hiding the purchase button.

As Chris mentions, this was an oversight. Woo had to do some development work to add in the ability to hide the “Purchase” button when the URL had a ‘ref’ of ‘themeforest’. However, if when switching themes you happened to get changed to a different demo server, the ‘ref’ didn’t follow. Woo has fixed this now too.

I’ve noticed that for our latest updated theme there is ‘Licensing’ directory automatically added into zip package. I’m making my zip packages installable in WordPress (user can install theme straight using downloaded from ThemeForest zip archive) and that additional ‘Licensing’ directory is breaking theme install in WordPress. Why it’s even added? I’ve it already inside theme directory – named ‘licensing’. There is no need to add it twice in fact. Does anyone else experiences this issue? Is it related to that recent 100% GPL changes? I think that Envato should inform about such a practices…

As Kriskorn has already said now, this was announced in the Envato Notes blog post, which was also linked to in the original announcement forum thread.

What we need to know is why woothemes is special on themeforest?

As Collis explained at the beginning, WooThemes were chosen as the launch partner for the new 100% GPL option, as they are a known and established theme shop who have embraced 100% GPL. This helps to encourage others who haven’t joined TF due to the lack of a 100% GPL option that they now have the chance to join.

1) They are non-exclusive author but got special rate, since it classified but maybe 70% or 100%? who knows? We also want to sell GPL themes on themeforest with special rate but still can sell our themes on our own site. Can we apply for special rate?

As Collis also mentioned at the beginning of this thread, we do have a Special Rates policy which we added to the knowledgebase some years ago.
