I prefer the old smilies aswell. It might be because the old smilies had a variety of colours. These ones don’t stand out at all .

It’s not much but…
in the search engine i know (think ) that it’s meant to say “start searching…” but sometimes it either shows the words “start searching…” never, or all over the page

I’m all for a new badges competition. It would also be nice if badge info was available as a public set in the Marketplace API . And as for the smileys, they serve their purpose but check out the ones below, they totally break the mold in the smiley department…
