I’ve got an iPhone 5 and it works fully witouth sim unlock. Wifi works, but 3G doesn’t (since it requires a carrier)

When the iPhone is new though you need to activate it first so I’m afraid you can only use it once it’s activated…

The iPhone can connect to the Internet via wifi without needing a SIM card. I had an old iPhone around the house doing this. The phone might need to be activated first though.

Yes, I have HTC One X and I can connect with WiFi on internet without SIM card, but for iDevices, I do not know…
