Yes, that is how we do it. If I do remember correctly, we included both the static html files and php files into the package.

The reason themeforest doesn’t want to have includes on the basic html files is exactly what you said. Some people want to use html instead of php or shtml for their sites. Ruby or Python are just two examples. Some even still use static html websites :)

I think I gave a hint to do this a while back, but I can not find the thread again.

The way we use to build html pages is to use php and do the includes of footer and header. When we are finished building the layout, we open the pages in our browser, let us show the source code and copy it into our editor and save it as a .html file. All there is left to do is to replace the pathes with default ones (eg http://localhost/mysite/images/ to images/) etc.

Hope that helps!

Cheers

As I said before in a previous thread-the “exposure problem” on the frontpage has to be fixed. There are too many 8-10 Dollars files that kick out wordpress themes etc (and they aren’t even selling well!) If it keeps developing this way the frontpage will be full only with HTML pages, newsletter themes and 404 pages in no time. This doesn’t have to be bad-it just means for an author that it might not be worth to create a Wordpress theme but rather smart to create lower profile items as well. As soon as you can’t earn several thousand dollars with a Wordpress theme anymore, people will stop creating new ones…

$5 increase would be nice. However, it would help even more to clean up the homepage-right now $10 items get as much exposure as a $35 theme which is way more work than a landing page or 404 page etc. Maybe you could fix the number of non high premium items (premium=$35 and up) shown on the homepage. If there are more than the fixed number, the thumbs could rotate randomly between the items….

Absolutely not. This suggestion needs to be completely disregarded by everyone in this marketplace. There are some people in this community who take pride in creating landing pages and newsletter templates. Hell, some people even make a living doing it…

Your suggestion is not fair whatsoever! And it’s an insult to us “non-wordpress” theme developers.

chill – I didn’t mean to insult anyone ;-) We have a very good selling landing page in our portfolio as well and also an email newsletter template and several html themes…

I am just saying that a four day exposure on the frontpage is very very bad. We invest much more time in developing a wordpress, magento, joomla themes and also in the support compared to a landing page or email newsletter. That’s why we have to make good sales or this business is not suitable anymore. Otherwise – if this marketplace gets too competitive – authors will have to look for different ways of distribution. I am not saying it’s all that bad right now but the development in the last months make me believe that it will get worse…

Maybe an increase in price can help from a different side to solve some of my concerns. I also believe that $39 sounds bette than $40…

It’s a well executed design but truth is that it has no uniqueness whatsoever. Seems like you are a good designer: start new, create a unique experience and try again! Sounds awful but I don’t see this template getting accepted. It’s not a bad thing-we got two themes rejected. Save the time trying to make it work and rather start a new theme! Also: include more features like different blog and portfolio layouts, sliders etc.

Hope that helps Cheers

Hi

I was wondering if there is a possibility to sell Facebook templates on ThemeForest (in the marketing category for example) or if we need to go over to ActiveDen and CodeCanyon?

Cheers Bebel
