Ok guys, I have a little problem where to put some of my new files (and where some of my old files should go)

I’ve made some new videos of gadgets and devices similar to files like my headphones or cellphone.

Now first: I would consider this to be stock footage, but because they are made digital and not from a camera some may would differ. So what do you think?

And Second: There seems to be no category like “devices”, “gadgets”, “hardware” or something similar. Of course I would realy like to see such a category (hint ;) ). But until then: do you have a good Idea where I should put those files?

Cheers Mario / 380nm

Edit: ok, I just saw that there are sub-categories ;) I think a good place for those files would be Motiongraphics/elements/3d,Object.

But I am still a bit confused about the definition of stock footage and motion graphics in this case. Can you tell me how excactly the two get differenced?

As a suggestion I would recomend a upload system via java or flash rather than html.

Especialsy with bigger files ( more than 200mb) I often get server errors. Which can be quite frustrating.

But I’m pretty sure the Devs have allready something like this on they’re mind ;)

well actualy.. most browser engines show swf with a simple object tag..

an object and embed tag will do the magic. (of course that will only work with mail clients who use a “normal” browser engine to display html mails and doesn’t change the way its render.. i don’t even know is there is a one like that out there ;) )

But i strongly advice you not to use swf in emails.. I have html mails deactivated per default. Also alot of spam filters will filter html emails with object/embed tags.. due to security reasons. Also, most people wil find animated emails annoing. etc etc..

If you want to show a client something, put it online ;)
